Next week, Pentland Brands is returning to New Designers to catch a glimpse of the work from over 3,000 of the UK’s brightest and most talented creative graduates.
The two-week exhibition at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London, will see students from more than 200 creative courses unveil their work to industry professionals. On Wednesday 4th July, they’ll be competing for the Pentland Brands Limited Award, which recognises excellence in design and offers the winner a two-month paid-placement in our Design Pool.
The day is an incredible opportunity for creative graduates to showcase their portfolios, and for leading businesses to gain an immersive snapshot into the UK’s continuously evolving design scene. Other businesses sponsoring their own awards include John Lewis, Joules and Virgin Atlantic.
Katie Greenyer, Creative Talent and Network Director, Pentland Brands said: “New Designers is a great show where I can see 3,000 fresh, exciting and talented designers in one place. Every year the calibre of graduates is impressive, inspiring and I always see something new! It’s the perfect place to recruit new talent and welcome designers across many different disciplines to the Pentland family.”
The Pentland Brands Limited Award, for outstanding ability and innovation in design, is judged by members of our own creative community.
On being invited to judge at New Designers for the fourth year, Stuart Ross Sheeran, Creative Agency Manager, Pentland Brands said: “The standard is always incredibly high and with every year, the shift in technology, social and environmental issues tackled in the university briefs, brings something really unique.”
Fellow judge Oliver Royce, Creative Lead, Speedo added: “New Designers presents a real privilege to get face-to-face with a new generation of talent and unbridled creativity. These are both things that contribute to the future of our brands and it’s an incredible chance for students to understand what Pentland offers as a place to develop their careers.”
