Speedo has announced it will be the Premier Partner of the third Duel in the Pool international swimming event where the USA and the European Allstars teams, featuring some of the finest swimmers in the world, are set to compete at Glasgow’s Tollcross International Swimming Centre.
As part of a three-year sponsorship deal, Speedo will partner this year’s Glasgow contest as well as the 2015 Duel in the Pool event in the USA.
A number of Speedo sponsored stars will be competing in the unique two-team transatlantic duel over short course (25m) distance. Olympic medallists Tyler Clary, Cullen Jones Jessica Hardy and Conor Dwyer will be competing for the USA against some of Europe’s best swimmers including Glasgow’s own Speedo sponsored Michael Jamieson (GBR), Melanie Costa (ESP), Femke Heemskerk (NED) and Daryna Zevina (UKR).
Speedo athletes will be racing in the latest Speedo technology in the form of the Fastskin LZR Racer Elite 2 swimsuit – designed to give swimmers the edge on the blocks and in the pool.
Duel in the Pool takes place on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st December 2013 and is the highest profile international swimming event to be staged in the UK in the lead up to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
