Pentland has announced its sponsorship of the annual Winston Churchill design competition in collaboration with ARTS THREAD.
The competition offers design students and graduates the opportunity to design the packaging for a limited edition Magnum of Pol Roger Brut Reserve champagne, using art that celebrates the paintings of Sir Winston Churchill.
Katie Greenyer, Creative Talent and Network Director at Pentland Brands, said: “the Winston Churchill design competition is an incredible opportunity for young, talented designers to showcase their work in a unique way. The calibre is always impressive, inspiring, and we love getting the chance to discover something new. It’s the perfect way for graduate designers to put their skills to the test and potentially take their first steps in the design industry.”
While many regard Sir Winston Churchill as the greatest statesman of the twentieth century, few know that he was an avid oil painter whose works were exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts in London. He was also a loyal customer and friend of the Pol Roger family until his death in 1965. His devotion to his favourite champagne and passion for colours, oil painting and impressionism are united in this unique graduate opportunity.
The winner will be offered a cash prize of £1000 and an exclusive tour the Pol Roger vineyard in Epernay, France. The top three entrants will also be considered for a work experience placement at Pentland Brands HQ in North London.
Entries close on 16th April 2019. You can find out more about how to enter here.
