On 30th September, representatives from Pentland Brands’ HR team attended the CIPD/People Management Awards in London, the HR profession’s most prestigious awards. The awards recognise and celebrate outstanding achievements in people management and development, and the impact it has on organisational success.
Pentland walked away with the award for ‘Best Employee Engagement’ and were also crowned ‘Overall Winners’ of the 2014 CIPD/People Management Awards – a fantastic achievement. The judges praised Pentland for a number of its people management practices, including the connection of employees to business strategy, and the articulation of the right balance between financial results, long-term global brand building and people-centredness.
CIPD deputy CEO, Susannah Clements described the initiative’s impact on Pentland as “transformational”, adding “the overall winner has to say something special about what HR professionals do and make a fundamental difference to the entire organisation, and that’s what we saw with Pentland.”
Commenting on the Awards, Peter Cheese, Chief Executive at CIPD, said: “Congratulations to all our winners and finalists of this year’s Awards, who highlight the remarkable work HR professionals are doing to improve the quality of work and working lives. It’s fantastic to see so many examples of brilliant and inspiring people management and leadership.”
Both of these awards recognise the achievements of our HR team; but also recognises the efforts of people leaders across the business and all employees globally who make Pentland a great workplace.
