Thursday 28th April 2016: Pentland Brands, the name behind some of the world’s best sports, outdoor and fashion brands, has been named as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces 2016 by the Great Place to Work Institute (GPTW).
It was 11th in the ‘best Large Company’ category, the highest ranking family company and the only sports, outdoor or fashion brand-owner to make the 2016 list.
The Best Workplaces 2016 list is selected based on an independent GPTW employee survey and a thorough analysis of all aspects of organisational culture.
The results from the Pentland survey showed improvements on previous years’ surveys with 88% saying it’s a ‘great place to work’ (up from 84% in the previous survey conducted in 2013).
Other results include:
+ 93% of people saying ‘I’m proud to tell others I work here’ (up from 90%)
+ 85% saying ‘People care about each other here.’ (up from 80%)
+ 83% of people saying ‘This is a fun place to work’ (up from 78%)
Andy Long, CEO, Pentland Brands says: “As a family-owned company, we care about people. If our employees feel valued and engaged with the business, we’ll get the very best out of them, and they’ll get the most out of their time with us”
“We’re always seeking to find the motivated people, who share our values, to join our business – because, ultimately, it’s the people that keep our culture unique and make this a great place to work.”
A study by the Great Place to Work Institute shows that 74% of the companies ranked in the 2015 100 best workplaces reported profit growth, compared to 50% of unlisted organisations.
