Mitre has unveiled England International and Aston Villa skipper Tyrone Mings as the brand’s new global ambassador.
Mings will support Mitre’s partnership with The FA Competitions, including The Non-League FA Vase Final this weekend. He will also feature in the brand’s ‘Different League’ campaign, which encompasses Mitre’s position as the true grassroots football brand, encouraging players of all ages and abilities to watch and participate in the game.
29-year-old Mings, who has appeared at every level of the game from non-league to Professional, has been playing with Mitre footballs from a young age. Off the playing field, Mings is known for giving back to the community through the Tyrone Mings Academy, which provides professional football coaching for children of all abilities aged 6-16 in the South West and Midlands. Mitre is supporting the academy with its latest footballs and equipment in a collective effort to help bring accessibility and enjoyment to the next generation.
On the partnership, Mings says: “In my opinion, you can’t talk about English football and all its history without talking about Mitre. It’s always been a brand that has been at the heart of the game.
“Some of my earliest memories of playing football as a kid at Chippenham, were with Mitre balls and, together, we are committed to getting even more kids playing football for the love of the game.”
Simon Breckon, Global Brand Director at Mitre, adds: “We’re over the moon to be partnering with Tyrone. He encapsulates everything we stand for as a brand and his history of playing with Mitre makes him the ideal ambassador to help us build even greater awareness of the brand.
“As an influential player both on and off the pitch, he shares our values, and we’re looking forward to supporting his own ambitions through the Tyrone Mings Academy.”
