Mireia Belmonte chooses Speedo through to 2016

Spanish swimming star and world record holder Mireia Belmonte, has agreed to become the latest Speedo ambassador deciding on a three-year partnership with the world’s leading swimwear brand. As part of the agreement, the Olympic medalist will use Speedo performance swimwear and equipment, including innovative products from the new Fastskin racing range.

In 2013 Mireia became the world record holder in the 400m, 800m and 1500m Freestyle (short course) and she is the first Spanish woman to win two World Championship medals. Mireia’s enjoyed success at the 2012 Olympic Games which saw her claim Silver in 200m butterfly and 800m freestyle and at the 15th FINA World Championships in Barcelona in 2013 where she received a further two Silvers and one Bronze.

At only 23 years old she also finished 2013 with 40 medals from national and international competitions, three world records and one record in Europe.

“2013 was a great year and I’m looking forward to swimming even faster in 2014. I swam all my international records in Speedo swimwear in 2013 and I feel very comfortable and confident with Speedo’s Fastskin racing range. It’s great to be an ambassador for such an iconic swim brand and I’m excited to be working with them on new developments through to Rio” said Mireia Belmonte
