WHAT’S THE MISSION FOR THIS ROLE?

The Manager, Marketing and Commercial Analytics, will play a critical role in supporting business units, including Marketing, Ecommerce, Product, and Commercial (with a focus on direct to consumer end points i.e. marketplaces) teams, by delivering regular, actionable insights rooted in product, consumer, and marketing data. This position requires experience in digital data analytics, consumer modelling, and commercial forecasting to inform strategic decision-making and identify growth opportunities.

Your primary focus will be on the continuous analysis of trade, consumer, and marketing data to capture macro and micro trends that drive business performance. You will collaborate closely with the analytics team to extract insights that support business strategies, integrate this knowledge with wider insights streams to bring together rounded views of consumer trends, and provide recommendations based on comprehensive data analysis.

WHAT DOES THIS ROLE DO? 

As our Marketing and Commercial Insight Manager, you will...

  • Regular Insight Outputs:
    • Review consumer behaviour, marketing effectiveness, and product performance data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that inform trade strategies.
    • Conduct regular assessments of trading performance drivers, integrating consumer modelling and forecasting techniques to enhance marketing and product strategies.
    • Focus on macro and micro trends in trading and consumer data to support proactive decision-making across business units.
  • Reporting & Dashboards:
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive reports and dashboards that track key performance indicators (KPIs) for ongoing business performance evaluation, particularly on owned ecommerce platforms.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance reporting tools and optimize data visualization techniques specifically for digital sales, consumer and product decision-making, focusing on metrics such as product availability, sell-through rates, cohort analysis, audience sell-out, and refund data.
    • Ensure that reports are user-friendly, consistent, and aligned with broader business objectives, enhancing visibility for stakeholders.
  • Ad-Hoc Analysis & Deep Dives:
    • Execute ad-hoc analyses to support in-depth investigations into specific product, marketing, or consumer trends as required.
    • Assess the impact of marketing initiatives or product modifications on consumer behaviour, sales performance, and overall engagement.
    • Deliver insights on new product launches and marketing strategies, guiding effective go-to-market approaches within digital.
  • Consumer & Market Insights:
    • Monitor shifts in consumer behaviour and preferences, providing timely insights that inform marketing and product decisions.
    • Review consumer interactions with ecommerce platforms, focusing on conversion rates, customer engagement, and sales performance.
    • Work with the wider insight team to collect competitive intelligence and market trend data to identify areas for potential business enhancement.
  • Data & Analytics Support:
    • Assist the analytics team in refining data infrastructure for digital end points to better address business needs and streamline analytics processes.
    • Help develop scalable reporting tools and methodologies to facilitate efficient data analysis across relevant departments.
    • Collaborate with global teams to ensure consistency in reporting practices and data integrity.
  • Business Strategy Support:
    • Provide ongoing strategic support by continuously assessing opportunities to refine or elevate business strategies through small, incremental changes based on data insights.
    • Regularly review combined datasets, including product availability, sell-through metrics, audience performance, and external factors like seasonality, to inform strategic adjustments.
    • Contribute to actionable, data-driven recommendations for key business functions, including marketing campaigns and product development strategies.
  • WHAT DO I BRING TO THE ROLE

    You might be our next superstar if you have the following skills and experience: 

    • 2-4 years of experience in business or digital analytics, or trading insights, emphasizing quantitative analysis.
    • Familiarity with retail, ecommerce, or consumer product/merch is a must.
    • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and translate business needs into actionable data insights.
    • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, Tableau, etc.).
    • Experience managing and analysing large datasets from diverse sources, with strong quantitative analysis capabilities.
    • Understanding of consumer modelling and commercial forecasting techniques.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex insights in an accessible manner to diverse audiences.
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proactive, collaborative mindset with a focus on delivering actionable insights and fostering cross-functional teamwork
