If you’re looking to ‘Get Speedo Fit’, you can get a helping hand from the greatest swimmer of all time, Michael Phelps, following the launch of a brand new challenge on the Speedo Fit mobile App.
Available as part of the Speedo Fit App which is on iTunes now, Speedo has created the ‘Phelps Challenge’ which takes you on a virtual 10 kilometre swim of the swimming legend’s hometown of Baltimore, taking in the highlights of the city’s iconic waterways. The route includes the Baltimore Inner Harbour, the Patapsco River, and, the historic Fort McHenry.
Allowing you to complete the challenge at your own pace and without venturing further than your local pool, you can input your swim laps into the App which then adds up the distance covered during each of your swims, recording your progress until you reach the 10 kilometre goal.
To mark the launch of the challenge, Michael Phelps completed the virtual 10 kilometre swim in his local pool, Meadowbrook. A master of distances between 100m and 400m through his stellar career, this was the Speedo sponsored superstar’s biggest long distance challenge to date, see him in training with Bob Bowman, his coach.
Michael Phelps said: “Baltimore is where I was born and where I grew up, and it felt like the perfect place to set this challenge.”
On inspiring people to take the ‘Phelps Challenge’, he continued:
“Keep an open mind and set goals to achieve along the way with the ultimate goal being to complete the full 10 kilometres.”
The Speedo Fit App is free to download, and is available in UK, France and China.
