As the Head of D2C Merchandise Planning (Direct-to-Consumer), you will play a crucial role in supporting our growth ambition across the Pentland Brands portfolio.

 

In this role, you will lead a team of Merchandise Planners across our London and Nottingham sites and collaborate with key stakeholders such as the Head of Sales Marketplace and Pureplay, and our Digital Growth Director.

 

The role you’ll play:

 

  • Craft merchandise strategies for our ecommerce, marketplace, pureplay, and outlet channels.
  • Optimise our products across the D2C channel, ensuring we have the right products available at the right time and in the right quantity for our customers.
  • Oversee stock planning, optimising inventory levels across multiple distribution centres and virtual stock pools.
  • Develop forecasting models and demand planning tools to enhance availability and minimize stockouts.
  • Collaborate with other teams to respond swiftly to changes in demand.
  • Analyse sales data and market trends to inform assortment decisions, providing the business with regular reporting on aspects such as spend, stock holding, free to sell and stock health.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing merchandise planning team.

 

What you’d bring

 

  • Extensive background in merchandise planning including ecommerce, marketplaces, and wholesale channels.
  • Strong understanding of assortment planning and stock management principles
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, facilitating effective teamwork.
  • Thrives in dynamic environments, demonstrating adaptability to fast-paced settings.
  • Experience in multi-brand and multi-channel environments, understanding their complexities.
  • Strong financial awareness, with a focus on profit optimisation and maximising sales and profitability while mitigating risk. 
  • Problem-solving and aligning with broader business objectives.
  • Familiarity with assortment planning and WSSI tools.

Pentland Brands are moving their London Hub to Farringdon in 2024. This role will initially be based in our current London Hub based in Finchley. At the point at which the Company establishes its office in Farringdon the normal place of work for this role shall be automatically redesignated to that location.
