Endura, the iconic Scottish cycling brand and Pentland Brands Limited company, has collaborated with Brompton, the trusted London-based bicycle manufacturer, in their debut city cycling apparel collection: ‘Brompton powered by Endura’.
The move sees the two cycling brands join forces to tackle the commute, with the collection designed and developed with Endura. Created for Autumn/Winter 2019, it’s a smart match for the versatile Brompton folding bike, frequently seen on London streets.
Featuring six pieces, including a waterproof jacket, a packable windproof layer and reversible gilet, the city apparel collection keeps consumers looking good both on and off the bike. Notably, there’s no lycra in sight – instead, the emphasis is on making city riding pleasurable, comfortable and hassle-free, to encourage more people to consider active commuting.
Pamela Barclay, Endura’s Brand Director, says: “A collaboration between Endura and Brompton makes total sense for so many reasons. Both brands are iconic British institutions and share a vision that chimes with current zeitgeist of getting more folk to ditch the car and get on bikes. The “Brompton powered by Endura” collection has turned out some really pukka premium riding kit – contemporary classics that are minimalist and yet loaded with discrete features and that move effortlessly from the street to the subway to the office – just like the Brompton bikes.”
Kenny Kelly, Brompton’s Design & Development Manager, says: “In Endura we found a fantastic partner with a stellar reputation, bags of experience in developing and producing great riding gear, and an ethos that mirrors our approach at Brompton. They have truly excelled in bringing our vision to life!”
