The Pentland Group’s retail division comprises the activities of JD Sports Fashion Limited, the UK’s leading retailer of branded sportswear, fashionwear and outdoor clothing and equipment, in which Pentland Group holds a 55% share.

Founded in Liverpool, UK in the early 1930s as The Liverpool Shoe Company, Pentland was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1964, before becoming privately owned again in 1999.
