We are looking for an experienced, passionate and creative Social Media Manager to join the Canterbury Marketing Team. This individual will be responsible for developing and implementing Canterbury’s Social Media Strategy, acting as the voice and guardian of the brand in the social space. You’ll mix creating innovative brand messaging and activations that engage consumers + influencers across social media platforms, with meticulous planning and project management.

This person serves as the team social media strategist, content generator and channel expert whose ultimate goal is to communicate our brand positioning, boost engagement and increase reach to drive overall acquisition. This person has a proven track record of demonstrating exceptional knowledge and understanding of the Social Media landscape – including content ideation, building and engaging communities, social listening & reporting, planning & execution of socially-led campaigns, understanding of the latest technologies impacting key global platforms.

 

The role you’d play as Social Media Manager

 

  • Define and implement social media strategy for Canterbury in UK & Ireland
  • Develop activity calendar & social media feeds for the brand, managing all scheduling and publishing across all existing channels and emerging social media platforms
  • Review social platform performance using Falcon analytics, providing recommendations and learnings on areas to improve
  • Monitor and respond to all brand conversations, acting the first point of customer service when required
  • Keep Canterbury and wider Pentland teams informed and up-to-date with current events, activity and performance
  • In partnership with the Senior Brand Manager manage the social and comms budget
  • Leverage connections and relationship-building skills to help tell brand stories, as well as drive consideration of Canterbury products

 

What you’d bring as Social Media Manager

 

  • Exceptional knowledge and understanding of the Social Media landscape – including content ideation & optimisation, building and engaging communities, social listening & reporting, planning & execution of socially-led campaigns, understanding of the latest technologies impacting key global platforms.
  • Strong copywriting and visual skills
  • Strong content creation skills (graphic design, photography knowledge a plus)
  • Relevant experience in managing social media in an agency or client side - preferably within sport, apparel, retail, or consumer products.
  • A passion for Rugby and love for sport as a whole
