We are looking for an experienced Shopper Marketing Manager will take on the role of creating value for Pentland Brands and our retailers through delighting the shopper with our brands at point of purchase in an effective and efficient way.

You will bring together our Customer’s Marketing Teams, our Commercial Teams and our Brand Teams to create visible, clearly defined Brand messages at point of purchase in store and digitally.

You will own the Channel Activation plans, incorporating a Retail Calendar and ensuring maximum exposure for our Brands and Products during all Key Retail Periods.

The role you’d play: 

  • Delivering a POP vision based on shopper & consumer understanding aligned to annual goals to drive more value.
  • Creating and implementing detailed Market plans to execute our strategies.
  • Continuous evaluating and monitoring to secure the delivery of positive ROIs and ensure our investments align to our customer and market plans.
  • Working directly with the customer, the Pentland commercial team and the Pentland Consumer team to deliver the customer and channel activation plan that inspires and excites our customers and consumers with accountability for the brand execution of our propositions in the customer aligned to regional / brand plans.
  • Working with the Shopper Design and Merchandising Team to gain greater understanding of consumers, shopper, and category trends to recommend and execute plans within customer.
  • Partnering with appropriate Brand, Digital and Social Media Marketing Teams to deliver 360-degree customer activation and own any tailored briefs(with appropriate digital functional sign off) engaging with relevant agencies where required to deliver customer content/materials.
  • Ensuring all projects are owned, managed and measured, taking necessary interventions to keep up on track and within brand guidelines.
  • Working directly with the Commercial Team and Brand Teams to plan annual marketing investment for the Business ensuring we understand shopper profile and brand strategies inclusive of promotion and new product launch plans on a channel by channel and customer by customer basis.
  • Playing a key part throughout the sell-in process ensuring delivery of key propositions through proactive execution plans that support commercial range recommendations from the Shopper Design and Merchandising function.
  • Championing flawless execution, delivering channel specific plans and campaigns.
  • Working closely with the Head of Sales (by channel) to win with the shopper at point of purchase by owning space and growing market share with clear channel activation plans.

What you’d bring

  • People management and leadership skills
  • Experience in executing and delivering channel specific plans and campaigns
  • Strong understanding of the key markets and the channels within it
  • Strong understanding of the competitor landscape within the key Markets
  • Strong understanding of our brands consumer types and be able to articulate their wants & needs.
  • Excellent communications skills, with the ability to communicate with and influence various stakeholders and departments
  • Passion for bringing the voice of the customer, shopper and consumer into our business
  • Strong planning, organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail
