The Senior Management Accountant will coordinate and lead part of the management accounts team to ensure that timely, accurate and consistent accounts are produced, submitted and reported on a monthly basis so we have a clear understanding of our business performance communicated with our internal stakeholders 



The role you’d play as Senior Management Accountatnt:


Month End Delivery

  • You’ll coordinate direct reports to deliver month end tasks as outlined below for designated areas of management accounts output
  • P&L review for brands/functions, ensuring that numbers are accurate and variances to budget or forecast understood.
  • Submission of month end numbers into Hyperion, ensuring all validations cleared and numbers reconciled to SAP.
  • Input into the brand/functional packs, providing commentary and insight for P&L areas.
  • Produce other management accounting reporting, providing commentary on actuals.
  • Preparation of detailed balance sheet account reconciliations and resolution of any issues.

Team Management and Development

  • Assisting with management and development of management accounting team, ensuring the team is supported with development opportunities in place
  • Support job rotation and job cover throughout the team

Process ownership

  • You’ll lead and coordinate standardised approaches for designated areas of P&L spend across the business – such as Marketing / Warehouse spend, Royalty etc
  • Promote a culture of rigorous controls across all accounting processes
  • Support the team’s agenda of continuous improvement, seeking to improve quality and speed of month end processes.

Stakeholder liaison and reporting

  • You’ll need to build relationships with the commercial and functional business partnering teams to enable
    • A clear understanding of business performance
    • Delivery of mutually agreed reporting outputs to enable effective delivery of financial information to the wider business – through both detailed (functional and cost centre) and summary (exec) reporting


  • Assisting in year-end accounting process including audits files and liaison and discussions with external auditors.
  • Liaison with other areas of Finance such as treasury and tax, to ensure delivery of requirements and accurate accounting treatment in place.
  • Embrace new projects and changing processes.



What you will bring a Senior Management Accountant:

  • Proven experience in a management accountant role
  • Strong knowledge of SAP, Business Warehouse, Hyperion and advanced excel skills
  • Qualified accountant with 3+ years post qualification experience
  • A positive, confident approach to getting things done within a very demanding environment and be able to meet deadlines
  • The ability to challenge
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ownership of strong control process, documenting processes and user guides
  • Strong communication (both oral and written), able to articulate finance to non-finance customers
  • Be able to analyse and interpret large amounts of data and crystalize mains points in an easy-to-understand format
  • Experienced in analysing business performance in a commercial environment
  • Rigorous with attention to detail
  • Pro-active, exceptionally well organised and able to prioritise
  • Discreet with sensitive/confidential information
  • Able to influence having developed strong relationships with management
  • Flexible in approach and “can do” attitude
