Job purpose:

The DevOps and technical manager role in Pentland is a new role, so the opportunity to shape the future of our technology deployment processes and evolution of our systems is an exciting one. We are looking for someone with a very strong programming background, who has a desire to take a step up in their career and manage a talented group of technical experts. You will be required to manage the development process but be in the detail of the design of systems and processes. You will still be required to write code on more complex tasks and review the team’s outputs.

Key responsibilities:

Platform evolution: Define, own, and evolve the development, deployment, and operational status of digital & data platforms in Pentland.

Hands on: Although this is a management role – you will be expected to keep very close to the development of our technology and lead complex developments.

Stakeholder management - Building strong internal relationships across Digital, Marketing, Creative and Commercial teams – be the authority in the organization in platform development.

Getting the best out of a team - Manage and develop a team of digital technology experts ensuring they are a high performing collective.

Consumer obsessed - Deliver exceptional digital experiences working closely with the digital experience teams. Ensuring the solutions, we deliver are user centric.

Key technologies & functional expertise

10+ years’ experience of developing sites, including SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris)

Experience of deploying code onto the cloud, GCP & Azure ideally

Understand of technologies like C#, Node, react would be beneficial

Good understanding of Spring Framework especially MVC, Security, Integration

Git / code repositories and versioning

Understanding of http protocol and how web applications work

Understanding of how full-page cache affects the way features are implemented

Knowledge of SAP tooling landscape and roadmap shaping

SAP Commerce Cloud Développer qualification préférable
