KEY PURPOSE:

The Senior Designer is responsible for delivering consumer led global designs that are innovative, brand right, and manufacturable under the assigned product category and guidelines. This role will create products that adhere to the seasonal direction and product briefs, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and meeting deadlines.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead design in women’s swimwear design within soft goods to oversee the end-to-end product development process from ideation to final production.
  • Conceptualize and ideate to create innovative and compelling global designs that reflect the conceptual direction and business strategy.
  • Identify current trends from design, color, material, and technical.
  • Anticipate the needs of the consumer with solutions to drive projects forward.
  • Remain responsible for all design execution by following through on all product details from color, graphics, details, construction, and cost.
  • Ensure seamless execution throughout the development process while adhering to the calendar.
  • Provide product information to input into BOM with detailed tech sketches for product development team.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Design, Tech Team, Development, Sourcing, and Marketing) always using clear and concise communication.
  • Work with Product Development on fit and offer suggestions for aesthetics, fit, construction, or cost savings.
  • Mentor and guide Junior Designers to inspire creativity, skill growth, and experience within the design team.
  • Support training where needed.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years’ experience in women’s swimwear or activewear design.
  • Strong understanding of fit and construction in stretch knits (preferably swim).
  • 4-year degree in apparel design strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign.
  • Experience with Microsoft – particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, manage time effectively to achieve completion at a professional standard.
  • Passionate about design, fit, and function.
  • Innovative and forward-thinking mindset.
  • Proactive mindset - always presenting new ideas or solutions.
  • A creative eye for product and design.
  • Curious and driven to look for inspiration that drives ideas.
  • Research consumer attitudes to identify emerging and current trends.
  • Must be team oriented and willing to support other team members when needed.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with internal and external audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Great relationship building skills to enable you to work cross functionally across teams.
  • 3D knowledge is a plus.
  • Knowledge and passion for swim along with a particular knowledge of competitors and the sporting goods industry is preferred.

Pay Range: $100,000 - $120,000 annually

Base pay is a portion of our total compensation package and determined within a range that allows growth and development within your role. Your base pay will be determined based on experience, skills and qualifications.
