KEY PURPOSE: 

As a member of the Finance team, you will build your business knowledge and create strong relationships within the Global Finance Community and with the Regional Leadership team. You will be responsible for actualizing the monthly results and providing insight into the various functions across our brands and holding companies.  The primarily responsibilities of this role are highlighted as follows:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

IMMEDIATE PRIORITIES

  • Support the existing team in the monthly closing of the Speedo US & Canada ledgers, with focus on customer related activities hitting our results.
  • Booking month end accruals, posting journal entries, and account reconciliations including but not limited to payroll, intercompany, overhead accounts
  • P&L cost center tracking
  • Supporting the FP&A team in actualizing results each month with a keen focus on customer profitability
  • Support in vendor set-up procedures and purchase order processing

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A LONG-TERM IMPACT:

Continued execution of the regional accounting function including:

  • Month-end execution on SAP and upload into Hyperion with commentary to support the results.
  • Financial statement preparation of actual with variance analysis.
  • Balance Sheet reconciliations (notably customer allowances, inventory, and royalties)
  • Cost Accounting - Standard to actual cost variance management and analysis.
  • Profit Center / Cost Center / Internal Order ownership
  • Support in other others as appropriate, including Asset accounting, supporting tax preparation and intercompany analysis.
  • Royalty invoicing and reconciliation (external + internal)
  • Local execution of risk and compliance (system compliance, insurance, operational taxes, Canada VAT, internal compliance)
  • Adherence to accounting policies both globally and locally, including any applicable statutory adjustments.
  • Work closely with Financial Planning team to ensure monthly results are accurately depicted for rolling forecast submissions.
  • Review of current systems and controls – taking a fresh perspective to make positive changes for the business
  • SAP continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team
  • Additional ad hoc tasks as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

What you need to have:

  • Relevant industry experience in a Wholesale environment
  • Minimum 5 years’ accounting experience
  • SAP ERP and Business Warehouse experience
  • CPA with Big 4 experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft, including Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate customer information to commercial sales team members
  • Ability to work in a multi-functional and multi-national entity business
  • Strong attention to detail/goal orientated
  • Polished verbal and written communication skills.
