A new role within the Pentland planning team, whose primary purpose is to support the Merchandising & Planning Director on one of Pentland’s key strategic transformations, Project Fortis. This project was born from a piece of external consultancy and is in service of our aim to create a reliable and responsive Supply Chain.  

 

This role is key to the project team and will provide an opportunity to work cross functionally against clear project objectives. The Project Manager will coordinate the overall project, ensuring appropriate planning is in place, project templates used effectively, and timelines met. In conjunction with the Project lead(s), you will ensure that the project team is undertaking the right thinking, connecting the dots, and working towards overall project goals. 

 

The role you’d play as Project Manager:

 

  • Work with the Merchandising & Planning Director and Global Head of Change to map out project goals and timelines, in turn creating appropriate project templates such as a project plan, stakeholder map, and more. 
  • Work with the Project Fortis team to prepare project check ins and coordinate project meetings. 
  • Coordinate input and action across the project team, flagging any risks to project delivery and recommending mitigating action. 
  • Prepare updates on project progress, for discussion within the project team and with the project sponsor. 
  • Contribute to the development of the business case. 
  • Support the execution of the project engagement plan, working with the Global Head of Change to ensure that employees are engaged and inspired by the project. 
  • Identify interdependencies across the business, flagging these with the project team and ensuring that the project is connected and linked in with various other business initiatives as appropriate.

 

Key Responsibilities as Project Manager:

 

  • Ensure project timelines are updated and progress tracked, keeping all stakeholders updated throughout the process. 
  • Manage the Project Fortis roadmap to ensure that it can be used as a communication tool and flag when planning or resourcing challenges are materializing 
  • Recognise need for extra workstream support and either provide or flag resource request 
  • Help workstream leads identify and mitigate resource challenges 
  • Support the teams in helping to identify and mitigate any risks 
  • Support the team in communicating the key changes and positive impacts to the business 
  • Support the team in creating the business cases and framework for tracking measure of success 

 

What you’d bring as Project Manager:

 

  • Previous experience in a project role with some exposure to project management 
  • Outstanding organisational skills 
  • Ability to work to deadlines both alone and with the team 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Ability to deal with a range of internal stakeholders and external partners 
  • Gravitas and the confidence to communicate with people at varying levels across the organisation 
  • Enthusiasm and passion for the Pentland Brands business 
  • Strong written communication skills
