WHAT’S THE MISSION FOR THIS ROLE?

Join our supportive team of four based in Nottingham (UK), Shanghai (CN) and San Francisco (US) and bring your chemical expertise so we can make a bigger difference. The landscape of product compliance and sustainability is moving fast. It is no longer an option to ensure compliance after production, rather compliance requirements must be at the heart of design, development and along the supply chain. This is paramount to keep our consumers safe and healthy. Equally, the Environment is our responsibility. Pentland is on a journey, and we need your help.

WHAT DOES THIS ROLE DO?

As our Product Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Act as the subject expert in product chemical compliance, providing interpretation of standards and advice to product teams.
  • Keep up to date with changing EU / UK regulations concerning all Pentland products (Apparel and Hardgoods) including labelling and packaging requirements.
  • Take the lead on implementation and maintenance of external certifications
  • Support proactive approach to compliance, coordinating with technical team to drive continuous improvement where needed.
  • Support value added service (VAS) activities in the region such as labelling requirements in specific markets. 
  • Provide expert and timely compliance advice to UK product teams in the form of product risk assessments and by contributing to quality assurance/product development manuals
  • Maintain and update compliance related documentation and processes
  • Work with the Customer Operation team and be a main point of contact to confidently answer customers product compliance queries
  • Ensure product labelling compliance for all products sold by Pentland Brands

  • Excellent written and communication skills, with experience in communicating technical information and standards to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to self-manage, prioritise work and multitask.
  • Expert knowledge in chemical compliance and legislation
  • Experience in product testing protocol/processes
  • Knowledge of international compliance standards and product safety
  • Good crisis management skills
  • Able to be a strong team player.
  • Able to identify, work with & influence key stakeholders.
  • Passionate about our products, Development and company success.
