Materials Technologist – Soft Goods

As part of the Global Materials function, this role will partner with key stakeholders globally to manage and communicate day to day activities including provide material input, conduct material development, risk assessment and problem solving.

Ensure materials are conformed with the brand’s expectations on both materials and product form. Maintain Material data integrity through a thorough data management process. Support our ambition to deliver sustainable materials and products

  

The role you’ll play as Materials Technologist:

 

  • Communicate and manage relationship with cross functional team
  • Manage day to day activities with material suppliers
  • Seasonal material development based on request from brand stakeholders
  • Coordinate with Product Assurance on in-house testing needs
  • Support product/material risk assessment and root cause analysis
  • Manage and maintain material database (PLM), ensure completion of the information
  • Collate seasonal colour request to create lab dip tracker
  • Work closely with design team to ensure all lab dip requests are accurate and accommodate any changes
  • Conduct lab dip approval  (for European mills)
  • Order required materials for the tech room
  • Maintain material physical libraries
  • Update sourcing tracker with logistical information required by category

What you'll bring as Materials Technologist:

  • Degree in Textile Chemistry, Textile Technology, or related fields
  • Have experience in managing materials development, material standards and testing
  • Understand design and product engineering
  • Ability to self-manage, prioritise work and multitask with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both written and spoken with proven experience working internationally across global teams.
  • A desire to work collaboratively across the Business
  • Able to identify, work with & influence key stakeholders.
  • A passion for performance brands
