The Role:

High level accountability
+ Lead & accountable to deliver the signed-off digital roadmap ambitions and Platform Strategy plan for China for 2023, which include not only direct to consumer business but also strategy for authorisation and management of franchised stores.
+ Accountable for executing the digital strategy across the full ecosystem and the overall operation of the e-commerce business and delivering against agreed commercial & brand engagement metrics.
+ Lead & accountable to drive the key account relationship with Platforms (Tmall/JD/Other) for Pentland brands.
+ Lead the expansion into new channels and platforms (commerce and ecommerce social) where relevant.
+ Full P&L accountability for all Digital channels’ revenue, margin and cost management.
+ Lead & accountable to curate and deliver joint strategic business & brand plans with key account customers for Online that are fully aligned to Pentland’s digital and Platform strategy.

+ Lead & accountable to drive the Online key account relationship and responsible for delivery agreed commercial metrics including sell-in, sell out, stock turn, payment and order book management.
+ Guardianship of the digital ecosystem and delivering against Pentland brands online brand standards, including user experience, digital marketing, web merchandising.
+ Drive any local platform / technology / functional requirements and upgrades – working closely with the local & global digital and innovation teams.
+ Lead & accountable for all owned stores management including TP/vendor management, campaign management, traffic management, Platform site design/feature/innovation management.
+ Responsible for managing the Media agencies to drive platform content performance leading to traffic, engagement, conversion & retention opportunities (wit focus on maximising ROI).
+ Ensure a joined-up approach with offline channels (retail) in order to best achieve omni channel delivery.
+ Support in the development of clear and consumer centric O2O strategy with the cross-functional stakeholders.


Leadership and people
+ Direct the development of online business strategy by working cross functionally to create annual operating plans and longer-term plans that are aligned with company direction.
+ Build joint objectives with offline retail teams – in order to achieve consistency and omni channel approach.
+ Be a leader that inspires confidence in the brand and our strategy both internally and externally, inspire customers to align with Speedo’s strategies.
+ Excellent team player in an environment where exceptional cross-functional working is expected (including central Digital teams, wider China team and any regional functions).
+ Through the power of logic, data and experience to persuade retailers, Online key accounts and other partners to implement Speedo strategies and follow our leadership.
+ Build clear and concise business proposals by using relevant data analytics and share with the appropriate stakeholders in the right way and at the right time.
+ Lead the eCommerce and Digital team in China and build stronger capacity & capability in order to realise Pentland’s digital ambitions now and in the future.
+ Lead & manage external agencies & technology partners to meet agreed targets.
+ Play a key role in supporting the wider Pentland digital strategy and digital products strategy – working brilliantly with the central digital teams and feeding back / advising how we can win in China.
+ Lead & drive regular communication with Pentland senior management teams with reporting, analysis and optimisation of platform performance with key levers and opportunities for growth.

+ China cross-functional team that delivers the brands plans including direct in-brand teams (e.g. Category/Product, Digital/Social, Content Creation) and Offline Commercial team
+ Pentland’s global digital, marketing, innovation and retail teams in the UK
+ Pentland Asia, particularly Finance & HR, CR team, Operations team based across China & the UK
+ Agencies & consultants – eCommerce platforms, TP, Fulfilment, Digital Marketing & Media agencies
+ Marketplace retailers and partners (in collaboration with retail and strategic accounts team)

The must haves:
+ Digital marketing and commerce (transactional) experience and understanding in China
+ Strong insight into online behaviours and in particular social trends
+ Experience with planning and executing integrated online communications
+ A track record in creating and delivering engaging consumer experiences (consumer centric)
+ Experience in analysing and utilising multiple sources of data to diagnose and recommending clear business actions
+ Experience in planning and managing large budgets across channels while achieving high volume growth targets
+ Experience in leading new business projects / opportunities in uncertain and volatile situations

+ Experience of managing and developing a team of direct reports
+ Experience in managing cross agency teams
+ Experience of matrix working in a complex business – understanding of Global / local working principles, track record of successful application, cross functional working
+ Experience working with digital, technology and online agencies
+ Strong (written and verbal) communication and interpersonal skills
+ Collaborative, able to build strong relationships quickly
+ Good organization and planning skills

+ Fluent in both Mandarin and English


Measures of success
+ Development and delivery of China Online growth plans and KPIs (e.g. commercial growth & contribution, brand equity and market share) to deliver against the brand’s objectives.
+ Plans and activity reflecting market potential as well as brand market growth ambitions.
+ A visibly motivated and engaged team focused behind a clear, single plan with resources (time and investment) demonstrably in service of the China business plan.
+ Measurable shift and growth of a harmonised digital & ecommerce contribution from both channel and platform contribution perspectives.
