The role you’d play:


In a world where our business models are at constant risk of disruption the Innovation & Ideas team exists to discover new growth opportunities and deliver consumer facing solutions.


You will be a Technologist tasked with the creation of future digital and tech solutions across the full portfolio of brands and categories.  This is a highly collaborative leadership role, working closely with the wider Innovation team, brands and central functions.


You will research, design and build digital tech solutions that make consumers lives better, easier and more fun


You have expert knowledge of what’s possible and you will have deep experience of user centered design


You will be the digital expert in an in-house innovation & ideas function, embedding best practice across all digital innovation workstreams


You are a player-manager, able to add value to strategy and planning, with the ability and desire to get stuck in at project level


You will build internal capabilities and look for ways to leverage and deploy existing digital expertise in a matrix environment


You’ll identify capability gaps and use your strong external networks to collaborate and partner with the best-in-breed externals


Your hands-on creative and technical ability will help the team to build prototypes that address the most powerful consumer pains and gains


You will have an analytical approach to the testing and validation of concepts, with the ability to introduce objective rational measures as and where necessary


Scalability will be baked-in to all projects, you will work alongside the Brand and central Digital function to ensure that your concepts have a viable route to market


Your firm grasp and acute interest in  the latest digital technology trends will serve as a source of input and inspiration for the team

The must haves:


You are entrepreneurial, deeply technical and have natural creative flair - you are obsessed by how technology and digital innovation is transforming our lives. 


You thrive in an exploratory environment with a high degree of ambiguity and potential to create remarkable solutions to real world consumer pains and gains.


You are a strategic thinker AND a chief tinkerer, able to talk-the-talk and walk-the-walk.


We are not bound by any particular tech stack, so we’re looking for someone who can work across platforms, with front end / back end experience (Rails / Node), who can design and build apps (swift / react / photoshop / sketch / figma), through to hosting and deployment (Heroku / AWS / GCP).


Expertise across a wide spectrum of client/server, web & mobile development – a UX/UI practitioner with the ability to lead full stack development


First-hand capability to code and develop web frontend / backend and native mobile applications. 


Experience of successfully delivering digital products/services from concept to launch, ideally across many categories and consumer groups


Proven leadership, mentoring and development of people and teams


Strong analytical ability – able to break down complex qual/quant data into clearly defined problem statements and work packages


Excellent creative and prototyping skills – ability to design, build, test, learn and refine in rapid cycles


Possess the technical experience to be a credible expert, ensuring both the team and stakeholders are clear and confident in your ability to lead digital workstreams


Significant experience of collaborating and managing external partners – setting objectives, negotiating terms and ensuring delivery on time and in full


Experience working within, and leading, cross-functional and matrix teams


Strong grasp of global compliance standards and regulations relating to consumer data protection
