Demand Planning Manager

Location: Nottingham or the ability to travel to Nottingham two days per week

The role:

This Demand Planning Manager role will drive the Demand Planning elements of the monthly IBP/S&OP cycle for the EMEA region across all brands. This will include building and maintaining accurate forecasts across the team, managing inventory levels and tracking and reporting against key KPI’s. This role will lead a team of Demand Planners working across different brands to drive and create consistent processes and ways of working. There will be a big focus on developing a data-led culture, working with IT to harness the data we have, and building strategies on what data we will need for the future.

This role will work closely with the Head of Planning to summarise key messages and actions on a weekly and monthly basis including regular reporting against key stock, sales, and margin metrics. Using these key messages to influence and engage stakeholders to shape the future planning strategy and challenge existing ways of working.

The role you’d play:

  • Lead the regional demand planning elements of the monthly IBP/S&OP cycle across all brands for the EMEA region
  • Support the businesses sales and margin ambitions through maximizing in-season opportunities whilst mitigating stock holding risks
  • Report and track against key KPI’s for the Demand Planning team covering stock, availability & sales
  • Develop a data-led team culture, working with cross functional stakeholders to improve standardized reporting and ways of working relating to data
  • Explore and establish new ways of working to improve availability & order fulfilment
  • Support the business in contingency planning for risks and opportunities
  • Challenging and influencing cross-functionally to ensure that the sales forecast and orderbooks are truly reflective of demand
  • Develop & coach the demand planning team, creating empowerment and clarity for all members of the team on their roles & responsibilities
  • Review and analyse data to highlight exceptions and variances which may impact our inventory or availability
  • Build demand forecast recommendations to ensure delivery of all marketing campaigns, business focus areas, trials and events
  • Stock/volume capacity planning and control to support the control of inventory across all channels
  • Partner with the global supply planning team to drive lead time reductions and greater visibility of stock throughout the supply chain
  • Mitigate the impact of vendor/shipping delays through data analysis and recommendations to accelerate orders
  • Work with IT to develop sales out strategy which can be utilized through monthly demand reviews with key commercial stakeholders
  • Build a 3-year strategic roadmap for the Demand Planning function
  • Develop a customer-centric approach to demand planning, ensuring that the customer and the consumer are at the heart of key decisions as part of the IBP cycle
  • Manage workload across the team through standardizing process & reporting
  • Develop increased brand, product, customer and consumer knowledge across the team to ensure that the relevant insights can be built in to future plans
  • Develop a greater understanding of the key levers for growth in each channel and support with planning initiatives to unlock these

What you will bring: 

  • Team management/leadership experience within supply chain/demand planning role
  • Team first approach – proven to work effectively as part of a team and act in the best interests of the business
  • Demand Planning, Merchandising or similar Supply Chain/Operations experience
  • Track record of delivering results and creating a performance focused team culture
  • Collaborative with other teams across the business to promote honest and open communication
  • High numeracy levels with a keen eye for detail
  • Can demonstrate sound decision-making based on intuition and judgement
  • Good communication and excellent team player, confident dealing with colleagues at all levels including management
  • The ability to influence cross-functionally in order to gain alignment with other teams
  • Effective time management, organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Use of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Highly analytical with strong (advanced) excel skills
  • Commercially aware to maximise sales and profit opportunities
  • Able to be hands-on and self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with Planning/ERP/Analysis systems
  • Experience of planning across multiple routes to market preferred – Wholesale, D2C, Partner, Retail
