The role:

This commercial sales role will support Pentland’s strategy in delivering breakthrough results & performance within the UK Teamwear Division.  This role will ensure the growth plan is delivered working closely with key functions and stakeholders internally and externally.  Working across assigned customers this role is responsible for delivery of sales, profit, execution of initiatives and brand presence to agreed KPI’s.

The role you’d play:

  • Build and nurture great relationships with Swim Clubs as an ambassador for the Speedo brand and Pentland Brands. 
  • Manage a pipeline of business, constantly seeking the next win by identifying, creating and converting sales leads whilst sustainably maximising and growing our existing business. 
  • Accountability for the sales, profit, brand presence and KPIs of Speedo Teamwear business as agreed through Budget process.
  • Build strong relationships with Customers as an ambassador for Pentland Brands and our brands.
  • Identify & present recommendations based on Customer feedback to Commercial, Finance, Product, Marketing & Operations functions regularly.
  • Work closely with Customer Operations to provide best in class support to Customers.
  • Champion forecasting working closely with Supply & Demand Planning.
  • Support the integration and uptake of use of our B2B and CRM systems working closely with Customer Operations to ensure records are kept up to date, calls are recorded in the systems and clear objectives are set for follow up.
  • Work closely with our Shopper & Digital Marketing teams to showcase our brands & capture new growth opportunities with Customers bringing our brands to life to more consumers in exciting & engaging ways.
  • Work in partnership with Group Credit function to understand, mitigate, and proactively avoid credit issues that may hinder shipment at best or lead to bad debt at worst.
  • Organise and undertake quarterly business reviews (externally) and monthly business reviews (internally) to maintain focus and ensure all possible steps are being taken by all stakeholders and contributors to deliver against budget plans.
  • Always keep abreast of the marketplace identifying new distribution opportunities and the evolving competitor landscape with regular feedback to team, line manager & key internal stakeholders.

  • Experience delivering results as an Account Manager, Business Development Manager or similar.
  • Prepared to travel as required by the role within the UK.
  • Strong communication skills including presenting.
  • Experience of negotiation, influencing and building a persuasive selling story.
  • Commercial acumen - understanding of broader business financial principles.
  • Ability to analyse data, spot trends and commitment to feedback into line manager, team and key stakeholders
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of competition law
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Swim Club landscape in the UK.
