The role:

 

Partnering with our brands globally and all key functional areas, you will deliver technology that enables our business to realise it’s vision and strategy. You will understand relevant business processes, suggest continuous improvements / new initiatives which you will then deliver / support technical solutions for the end-user. This is a multi-faceted role that has great opportunities to explore new technologies.

 

The role you’d play:

 

Partnering with our brands globally and all key functional areas, you will deliver technology that enables our business to realise it’s vision and strategy. You will understand relevant business processes, suggest continuous improvements / new initiatives which you will then deliver / support technical solutions for the end-user. This is a multi-faceted role that has great opportunities to explore new technologies.

 

Technology

  • Contribute towards providing the best technological solutions driving the most value for the wider organisation.
  • Develop ideas, processes and technical solutions that improve our offering.

Solution and Project Delivery

  • Understand overall project methodology and how to work within a project environment.
  • Ensure procedures related to identification, changes, testing, documentation, approval and communication of any modification to the system are followed.
  • Implement changes to the system, including those which have a multi-brand and global impact.
  • Including active and positive adherence to Pentland and its change control.
  • To help deliver project tasks within agreed timescales and budget.
  • Be part of project teams and contribute to the planning and resourcing of project tasks where appropriate.
  • Contribute to and deliver technical solutions for problems, improvements and developments. 

Support and Service

  • Provide an excellent support to the business in the day-to-day running of the operational business systems.
  • Support and maintain Pentland’s applications where relevant to a site or a location.
  • Support the Senior/Lead Analysts with regards to ad-hoc department activities.
  • Carry out system administration tasks as per documented procedures.
  • Work with regional and local teams in implementing and supporting solutions.
  • Monitor physical infrastructure (hardware & OS).
  • Evaluation, handling and resolution of Infrastructure/application technical issues, in such a way that the problems are always registered and resolved within SLA’s; actions and solutions are communicated via available tools. 

Team

  • Have a self-starter mentality to learn new technology in line with overall architecture direction
  • Provide technical mentoring and coaching to the analysts in the department 
  • Support other team members with regards to ad-hoc department activities. 
  • Work in a ‘best endeavours’ manner to ensure that Project and Support commitments made to business users remain within agreed timescales.
  • Able to demonstrate energy, drive, enthusiasm, determination and passion.

The must haves:

 

Technology:

  • 1st - 2nd line troubleshooting
  • Excellent understanding and experience of using Jamf (CCA or CCE accreditation is a distinct advantage)
  • Excellent Mac OSX knowledge (ACSP, ACTC or similar certification is an advantage)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft InTune MDM
  • Knowledge of and ability to script in Bash and Applescript (Python is an advantage)
  • Sophos Anti-Virus management for Mac
  • Apple Mac hardware support
  • Experience of integrating Apple Mac devices into a Windows landscape
  • Working knowledge of Windows server and client platforms
  • Good understanding of Adobe Creative applications
  • Apple TV devices deployment, configuration and support
  • Office 365 - Hybrid deployment support
  • Exchange, Active Directory, Group Policy Administration and Management
  • Cisco and Aruba WLAN  

Teamwork

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external teams and clients
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including ability to conduct workshops
  • A sound understanding of great customer service
  • A good team contributor, working with the other members of the Service Delivery/Pentland IT team to set up people and projects for success.
