Berghaus launches exclusive second offering from ‘Dean Street’ collection

This week, Berghaus’s ‘Dean Street’ returns with a Spring Summer 2020 unisex collection. Delving deeper into the brand’s rich archive, the heritage range presents classic styles from the 70s, 80s and 90s remixed in playful colour palettes and fresh Aztec prints across light outerwear, summer shorts and essential layering pieces.

New key pieces from the collection include the Ascent 76 Jacket, a piece inspired by the strong colour blocking and detailing from the 90’s Berghuas range, along with staple pieces including the Prism Printed Fleece and Caatinga Shorts. Last season’s favourites such as the Tempest 89 and Ski Smock 86 are offered in a new array of colourways suitable for the season change, from bold spring tones to muted summer pastels.

Kev McFadyen, Berghaus Brand Director comments:

‘For the second season of our Dean Street collection we want to stay close to our Newcastle roots, and it felt natural to street-cast the accompanying lookbook shoot with real people from our local towns and communities.

Northumberland and its countryside is where we have tested many of our products over the years so  we thought it an interesting canvas for a range inspired by our heritage.’

Berghaus originally made its debut in 1966 in a mountaineering shop. The store was located on Newcastle’s Dean Street and throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s, Berghaus was both at the forefront of outdoor innovation and embraced by climbers and youth culture alike.

The Dean Street collection is available on Berghaus.com, as well as retailers Urban Outfitters and ASOS.
